USPS is making two changes to its API this month on September 7th and September 28th which may impact your ecommerce storefronts. USPS is changing a few uncommon shipping services and country names on September 7th, 2014 and dropping support for their RateV3 API on September 28th, 2014. If you have an ecommerce website running Magento 22.214.171.124 or newer you are in the clear, but if your version is older you will need to consider installing the patch released by WebShopApps. If you are running an ecommerce website on an older version of some other ecommerce platform you will need to look into whether or not this USPS API update will impact your website prior to the dates mentioned. Please let us know if you need assistance!
If you have ever worked with a spreadsheet that had lots of data – perhaps thousands or tens of thousands of rows – then you know the importance of formulas. We would like to share a handy formula with you that will check a cell for a trailing comma (or other character) and remove it. Please keep in mind that this formula actually checks to see if the last character is a comma – it will not just remove the last character in the cell no matter what – a crucial check for anyone that might not have such a problem on all cells.
In the above formula, you will notice that cell A1 is being checked to see if there is a comma at the last position. If a comma is found then it will remove the comma, but if another character is found it will leave it alone. To change it from a comma to another character, such as hyphen, simply change the formula to look like the following:
We hope this comes in handy for someone! Please remember to always keep backups of your files and data before making any changes!

There is a new serious WordPress vulnerability in certain versions of two popular WordPress caching plugins, W3TC and WP Super Cache. The vulnerability allows remote PHP code to be executed locally on a server for anyone running either of the plugins. An attacker could then execute code on the infected server.
There is currently a widespread brute force attack being launched at a large number of WordPress blogs across the Internet. The attacks are using brute force against WordPress administrative portals, using the username “admin” and trying thousands of passwords. It appears a botnet is being used to launch the attack and more than tens of thousands of unique IP addresses have been recorded attempting to hack WordPress installs. If you have a username of “admin” for your blog or other CMS program, please update it to something less generic. It is also a good idea to ensure the passwords you are using are strong, such as the inclusion of special characters, mixed case and numbers.
